CBT Therapist- ISAP

Position: CBT Therapist - Integrated Access to Structured Psychotherapy,
Contract (no benefits) till March 31, 2020 with possible extension
Reports To: Clinical Program Manager


Position Summary:

The Couchiching Family Health Team, in conjunction with Waypoint’s Outpatient Services, Catholic Family Services, and the Huronia Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic is currently seeking a CBT Therapist. The purpose of this position is to plan, conduct and deliver a program of individual and group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for adults with depressive and anxiety disorders, and participate in a program evaluation in consultation with the CBT Psychologist. The position will be non-union and will be commensurate with experience.


Roles and Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments (PHQ-9, GAD-7) to inform individualized treatment plans
• Facilitate group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) utilizing evidence-based approaches
• Provide individual evidence-based CBT treatment
• Participate in clinical supervision meetings with a consulting Psychologist
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports
• Collaborate with team members in provision of care
• Contribute to program development and program evaluation
• Maintain and upgrades knowledge and skills
• Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
• It is anticipated that the incumbent will provide services to a minimum of 4 patients/clients per day
• Keep monthly statistics for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC)
• Maintain an organized appointment schedule

Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adjust language and terminology to suit the individual patient or patient group (including cultural sensitivity)
• Strong clinical skills; demonstrated ability to utilize best practices for mental health treatment
• Autonomous and able to function with minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively with all members of the health care team
• Ability to work in an inter-professional team environment
• Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and be flexible in a very active work environment
• Work in compliance with Health and Safety laws adhering to safe work practices and procedures established by the CFHT
• Other duties as required

Computer Skills
• Familiarity with a PC OS environment
• Experience with scheduling and electronic medical record keeping using a clinical management system (Practice Solutions) is an asset

Language Skills
• English required; Second language not required but would be an asset

Education/Specific Job Requirements:
• Minimum Education: Masters Degree in Social Work or Psychotherapy
• Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
• Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act
• Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
• Strong assessment skills to deliver and interpret symptom and outcome measures
• Models and promotes core ethical practice, organization’s values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
• 2 positions will require current Ontario Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle for travel
• 2 positions will require evidence of a clean driver abstract and proof of insurance
• Flexibility to work evenings, if required
• Police Record/Vulnerable Sector Check

Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the delivery of evidence-based CBT is preferred; Documented evidence of CBT training with adequate supervision is preferred
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of etiology and treatment of depressive and anxiety disorders as well as CBT and its application in mood and anxiety disorders
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the science and practices of psychotherapy including a full range of psychotherapeutic and assessment techniques
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of diagnostic categories and criteria as listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V)
• Clinical experience working collaboratively with a community-based agency preferable
